Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. There are five of her siblings: two half-brothers and a half-sister and two younger siblings. Their parents gave their daughter the name Miley in the hope that she would achieve success. Her nickname from childhood, Smiley, due to her infectious personality later changed to Miley. Her paternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus was the first student at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. At the age of eight, her family moved from Tennessee to Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus her father Billy Ray took a role in the TV drama Doc (2001). Cyrus began thinking about acting in this time. Her first role came alongside her father on the set of Doc (2001). Additionally, she had a role in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). The year 2005 saw Cyrus had been cast in her character's lead in Hannah Montana, a Disney Hannah Montana series. Hannah Montana (2006), which follows a teenager who lives a double life as a pop star. Her father also joined her on screen. It became an instant success that soon sold out tours were announced along with the signing of merchandising contracts. Cyrus quickly became a popular teenage phenomenon. Cyrus has appeared as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) and The Last Song (2010) with Demi Moore, shifted to different performances.
